**About the team**:
The Analysis and Insights Division has an expansive remit that includes topics such as evaluation, industry policy, innovation, productivity, resources and the transition to net-zero. We provide influential analysis, insights and advice, build cutting edge models, analyse microdata and engage across the Australian Public Service, industry, academia and society to support high-quality public policy.

**The opportunity**:
Are you curious and excited to learn about and gain practical experience modelling and analysing policy issues like Australia’s transition to net-zero and how Australian businesses and industries prosper? Consider an Economic Modelling role in Analysis and Insights Division where you will be able to flex your critical thinking and analytical capability with access to granular data on activity and firm emissions, microdata on firm behaviour and information on Australia’s innovation system. This includes information from the Business Longitudinal Analysis Data Environment.

**What you will do**:
We have several teams that ensure our modelling is accurate and influential in shaping policy decisions, program design and effective service delivery.

As an **APS4 **in these teams you will support:

- The delivery of analysis in a supportive and encouraging environment
- Communication with a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

In addition, at the
**APS5 **level you will support:

- The management of projects
- Work with stakeholders to achieve outcomes

Additional responsibilities of an
**APS 6 **Economic Modelling Officer may include:

- Leading work on complex issues and preparing evidence-based policy advice including ministerial briefings
- Collaborating with representatives from industry, state and territory governments, and other Commonwealth Government agencies on development of economic modelling
- Working closely with executive level team members to influence the strategic direction of the team’s work.

**Eligibility**:
Tertiary qualifications or experience in a relevant field such as evaluation, economics, psychology, statistics, behavioural science will be highly regarded but not essential.
