**YOUR ROLE**

As Bunzl’s Sustainability Advisor, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. You will play a crucial part in the delivery of our global sustainability strategy throughout Australia and New Zealand. Working across all our material sustainability issues, the role is broad but has a big focus on the circular economy.

You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and improve environmental performance with particular emphasis on packaging sustainability, product stewardship and waste.

Key responsibilities
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in the sustainability field, particularly relating to the circular economy, waste, and sustainable packaging.
- Provide technical sustainability support to our sales team, assisting with customer queries during tenders or in day-to-day communication.
- Work closely with sourcing teams to identify and review sustainable product and packaging formats in alignment with regulations.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to meet APCO (Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation) requirements.
- Support our operations teams to reduce on-site waste to landfill through technical advice, awareness raising and training.
- Develop partnerships with key suppliers, customers and the waste industry to progress product stewardship scheme advice and opportunity.
- Prepare content for external sustainability communications, including Sustainability Strategy, Fact Sheets, case studies, and websites.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Environment, Sustainability, and/or Communications-related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate quantitative data into qualitative messages.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of sustainability trends and issues.
- Initiative: Be proactive in monitoring and managing your own time, displaying self-reliance.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and present information clearly.
