**The Role**

A Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics (Level B) is expected to contribute significantly to the teaching of Mathematics and Statistics through the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, other types of teaching activities, and supervision of honours and postgraduate students and is expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within the College and across the University. This position is also expected to develop scholarly research outputs and to perform professional activities relevant to the discipline.

**What you’ll bring to this role**
- A PhD in an area relevant to the appointment (i.e. mathematics and/or statistics, or a closely related discipline).
- Demonstrated experience in teaching in the discipline or profession, or two or more years of postdoctoral or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in high quality independent research, with an established record of scholarly publications.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise honours, postgraduate and/or HDR students
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
- Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English.
- Commitment to Staff code of conduct and University strategy.
