**About the Company**
Davidson Technology are currently supporting Australia’s top university in finding an exceptional ICT Infrastructure Project Manager to deliver digital solutions that enable the University to achieve its strategic goals: a student experience equal to the world’s best, and research that transforms society and creates national capability.
The organisation is currently under a 10-year strategic roadmap for the transformation of the University’s digital capability. The Project Manager will have responsibility for the University’s digital ecosystem, whilst adhering to targets from the Universities target cultural objectives of take an outside-in view; think team; own it; make it simple; act with empathy.
The University are looking for an ICT Project Manager to join them on a 36-month fixed-term contract. The University adhere to current Hybrid Work from Home demands and require 2 days per week at the University. They also operate on a 35-hour week basis, which offers great work life balance.
**About the Role**
As the ICT Infrastructure Project Manager, you will engage and focus on projects related to the implementation of ICT infrastructure components of the University’s Digital Master Plan.
The role will initially focus on two key projects for Information Technology Services:
- Communications rooms remediation and upgrades as a precursor to the Zero Trust Network project.
- Wireless upgrade which is seeking to improve the University’s wireless infrastructure and implement improvements identified in the Wireless health check report.
- Additional projects focusing on ICT infrastructure may include coordination of ICT works for new/refurbished buildings, rollout of new computers to the information commons, and implementing upgrades or replacement
As the Project Manager, you will oversee the inception, execution and review of key ICT projects aimed at achieving the University’s strategic objectives. To achieve this, you may work alone or in a small team but will engage with a broad group of stakeholders, including ITS functional teams, Colleges, Service Divisions, Executives and vendors and external partners as required. You will be required to deliver on time, budget and to the quality expectations of the customer with a focus on ensuring that the agreed outcomes of the project are delivered.
**About You**
Under the broad direction of the Associate Director, Project Delivery and Engagement, your main responsibilities will include:
- Provide team leadership and management to create an engaged and cohesive team that operates according to the ITS target cultural values.
- When leading projects, develop and deliver key project management artefacts such as project plans, risk and issue registers, stakeholder engagement and communication plans and resource management plans.
- Ensure appropriate project governance arrangements are established, maintained and supported, and monitor project progress to ensure milestones and performance indicators are met and outcomes are delivered.
- Use the required reporting tools to maintain project information and ensure accuracy for monitoring and reporting purposes, including the delivery of project status reports.
- Develop, implement and maintain a framework and methods for regular and effective communication to inform and engage relevant stakeholders.
- Manage vendors and contracts in line with ANU policies and procedures and best practice to ensure the University interests are protected.
- Provide input into the continuous improvement of the project management framework at the University, ITS project delivery and PD&E team operations.
Key Selection Criteria is as follows:
- Graduate qualifications in project management and information technology or equivalent environment or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training. As a guide, experience in this context is likely to be five years. Accreditation in MSP, Prince2, PMBOK or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in ICT project management including completing multiple projects on time, within budget and delivering high quality outcomes using a variety of methodologies including Agile approaches.
- Demonstrated experience preparing high quality professional business case submissions and project management artefacts in accordance with best practice project management principles.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, both written and oral, including demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and organisational skills with an ability to meet priorities, competing deadlines and use of sound judgement in decision making.
