**About You**

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities for this engagement are primarily:

- Assist the Information Management team with bench marking and improving customer survey standards by conducting regular Customer Surveys across Council.
- Prepare materials and provide induction training to all new employees who use PC's (Personal Computers) on the network.
- Provide advice and support to other staff to ensure a cohesive and competent customer focused work team.
- Implement Council's desktop computer environment by performing installations, upgrades and maintenance of the Council's PC hardware and software across Council including remote sites.
- Develop implementation procedures to allow ease of installation and upgrades to Council's hardware and software.
- Facilitate procedures to service users throughout the organisation, maintain hardware as necessary and investigate necessary upgrade paths for future direction, providing technical support as necessary.
- Attend meetings as required to provide direction for organisational teams where expertise in Council's computer system is required.
- Assists with preparation of annual business plan and undertakes management of projects related to IT (Information Technology) Operations, within the set parameters as identified in the IT plan as required.
- Provide administration and support for mobile devices including laptop 3G connections, smart phone handsets and tablet devices.
- Maintain asset register for council hardware.
- Administration and support for councils PABX spectrum system. Including maintenance of Customnet features, patching and arrangement of new/cancelled services.
- Fault diagnosis: repairs for fixed line analogue/digital services, ISDN, ADSL and related equipment. Liaise with service providers for all faults and repairs to all equipment / services on and off site.
- Assist with planning/development of infrastructure for new sites.
- Provide handset, headset and conferencing equipment recommendations, orders and installs.

In line with the position purpose and key responsibilities the following describes the accountability

and extent of authority of the IT Support Officer.
- Recommend operational expenditure to the Co-ordinator IT Operations on matters pertaining to a common desktop environment and Help Desk operating procedures.
- Identification and recommendations of enhancements to the Desktop Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
- Accountable for the optimum operation of Council's desktop systems.
- Accountable for the optimum operation of Council's telephony systems.
- Accountable for maintaining confidentiality of Council information accessed through Council's computer systems.
- Accountable for efficient use of time and resources.
