**The Organisation**

Our client's mission is to assist youth in Australia in overcoming the barriers to their education, enabling them to reach their potential. They provide these individuals with an opportunity to access education as an equal and rise above their challenging circumstances.

Our client has designed a new Careers Skills Development program for students in Year Nine and above that will require greater engagement with students to help them prepare for life after school. A pilot of this program is being prepared and it will run alongside two existing programs providing educational support to students aged between 4 and 25.

They are an independently managed charity which has been providing support to students for 100 years. Since their inception, their focus has been ensuring that youth in Australia who are in need are given the opportunity to have a better start in life.

**The Opportunity**

This role will utilise your combined background in education/teaching and team leadership management. You will have student contact, and will experience the rewards of helping young people develop and thrive. This role will give you the opportunity to further develop your managerial skills. The day-to-day responsibilities of the role of Program Manager - Student Support and Career Coaching include;
- Oversee the existing Student Support Programs and the pilot Careers Skills Development Program
- Manage a small team
- Extensive interaction with students and families focussed on maximising the benefits of an education
- Set and monitor learning goals for students and provide skills coaching for students
- Capture, share and promote details of the educational and social outcomes achieved by students as a result of this charity's support
- Support the CEO with the wider management responsibilities for the organisation

**The Skills We are Looking For**
- Bachelor's degree and relevant teaching experience in education within Australia
- Successful track record in developing students and their careers through identifying their strengths, encouraging discovery of solutions, and setting of meaningful goals
- Experience in a managerial role, looking after staff, budgets and client relationships
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate competency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Previous experience working with a database/CRM

**The Benefits**
- Attractive base salary circa $100k commensurate with experience
