**Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs..**

We are looking for an experienced CSP practitioner to deliver the CSP elements of our decarbonisation projects in line with Rio Tinto’s CSP Standard, driving genuine value for host communities and our business on a 12 Month Contract.

Due to the scale of our mining and processing activities, Rio Tinto has significant Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Between now and 2030, the company must switch to renewables at scale and pace, electrify everything we can, working across our value chain, accelerating the development of new technology, and addressing emissions related to process heat at our alumina refineries and minerals processing operations.

The CSP Principal Advisor will, as a key member of the Rio Tinto Energy and Climate (RTEC) team, coordinate delivery of CSP objectives for the full range of projects in this portfolio. Initially, the focus will be on projects in Australia though some involvement in global projects is likely, with this split potentially evolving over time.

We are an open, connected global team that includes some of the industry’s best and brightest minds. We offer competitive, performance-focused remuneration and a wide range of benefits to reward your contribution. This role can be based in either our Brisbane or Perth Hub.

**Reporting to the CSP Manager for Projects / RTEC you will**:

- Work as an integrated part of the RTEC team to ensure project alignment with the company’s decarbonisation strategy and Group CSP strategy.
- Develop and implement plans and systems to meet the requirements of the CSP Standard, including development of engagement plans, human rights due diligence, stakeholder feedback mechanisms, cultural heritage management systems, complaints processes, regional economic development plans etc.
- Work closely with the CSP AoE Human Rights team on third party human rights due diligence relating to decarbonisation and renewable energy initiatives
- Project manage key CSP scopes associated with project approvals (e.g., social baselines, social impact assessments, cultural heritage surveys etc.)
- Develop and manage project-level CSP budgets, schedules and resourcing plans to meet Rio Tinto’s CSP Standard
- Work with project teams and communities to optimise local employment and procurement outcomes, and promote opportunities for broader regional economic development
- Lead work to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, and establish a strong basis for obtaining consent from Indigenous people where this is required
- Provide support to the RTEC communications team to build awareness and understanding of RTEC projects internally and externally
- Build CSP awareness and capability internally and externally as part of project delivery
- Engage closely with the CSP Area of Expertise (AoE) to ensure risks and opportunities are appropriately escalated
- Liaise with other Rio Tinto assets and projects to ensure integration / coordination

**What you’ll bring**
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues
- Extensive experience in social performance and/or communications / engagement
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, human rights, environment, communications, etc.)
- A collaborative and team-focused attitude, enabling you to work across various parts of the business
- Demonstrated experience delivering major projects in line with national and international good practice CSP frameworks
- Proven high-level project management skills
- Experience in working cross-culturally, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Good understanding of Australian Federal and State legislative processes
- Prior experience in decarbonisation/renewables projects preferred
