The Technical Data Lead is a pivotal role in helping create a data driven culture within this niche financial services provider.

With leadership of a team of x2 data analysts and working closely with internal and external platform and delivery partners, responsibilities of this very hands on role will include:

- Oversee the design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures.
- Design and build shared and secured database environments to meet business requirements.
- Design and implement data and business solutions to support business decisions.
- Monitor industry trends and directions.
- Provide extensive technical and strategic advice and guidance to senior managers and technical resources in the creation and implementation of data standards and databases.
- Leads technical evaluations to assess the merits of various data solution options against technical requirements, security considerations, business criteria, and managing trade-offs.
- Oversees data design specifications for the organisations transformation road-map
- Work with the business lines to capture, validate, prioritise and document business data requirements in support of strategic initiatives.
- Mentor Data Analyst and Business resources on complex investigations, technical troubleshooting, and data management best practices.
- Analyse and prepare recommendations to address any potential problem across the organisations technology stack as part of a continuous improvement process in consideration of changes in business environment, improvements in scalability, availability, maintainability, and data security.
- Ensure that designs and configuration are documented to the level required, and appropriately reviewed / signed-off.
- Provide leadership, direction and feedback to department heads and staff to ensure data considerations, risks and control standards are understood and embedded within technical designs concepts.

**Skills**
- Demonstrable knowledge in SQL Server database querying and programming.
- Experience in data security risk management, standards and frameworks
- Extensive experience working with third party suppliers (platforms and resources)
- An understanding of software development methodologies.
- Proven ability to analyse information and develop appropriate plans and responses
- Experience in using software development tools such as Visual Studio 2019, Visual Studio Code and Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
- T-SQL query performance tuning.
- Working with Enterprise process automation tools.
- Version control experience using GIT
- RESTful APIs utilizing.NET Core (C#) Framework and knowledge of microservice architecture

**About You**
- This is a hands on role leading a small team of data analysts.
- The team are new and will need someone with some technical experience including SQL that can support and guide their development
- This role would suit someone with a strong technical background, perhaps a DBA, Data Developer, Analyst or Architect
- This role would be ideal for someone who perhaps is currently working in a larger organisation but is looking for that step up in their career to lead a team OR is looking to escape the red tape and see much more immediate returns for their efforts
- Great communicator and equally happy sat with business stakeholders as they are with reviewing database structure
