**Term Full-time vacancy up to 9 months.**

The Personal Assistant is accountable to the Assistant Commissioner Security and Emergency Management Service for the provision of effective and efficient confidential secretarial, administrative and research support services thereby contributing to the achievement of Service objectives.

The Personal Assistant’s role is to manage the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Security and Emergency Management Service and the Chief Superintendent, Security and Emergency management Operations Coordination Branch, which not only includes undertaking the traditional secretarial role but supports both the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Superintendent in a range of key tasks, such as:

- Managing workloads and relieving the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Superintendent of operational issues by redirecting enquires, correspondence and requests for information to more appropriate personnel within the Service;
- Anticipating and proactively managing the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Superintendent’s appointments and balancing both internal and external engagements, meetings and commitments;
- Actively responding to a range of matters by calling for or finding information to assist the Assistant Commissioner and/or Chief Superintendent in the decision making process;
- Working with a range of people throughout the organisation in order to meet deadlines and provide effective client service; and
- Preparing correspondence and undertaking general administrative duties.

**Special Conditions**
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.

**Salary**
ASO3 - $65,606 - $69,919 per annum.
