Why this role matters

The Support and Safety Hubs bring together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Hub team and a consolidated intake point in the Bayside Peninsula Area to create a new way of support.

The Support and Safety Hub provides:

- a more visible contact point so that people know where to go for specialist support
- help for people to identify family violence and child wellbeing issues
- advice based on contemporary risk assessment tools and guidance
- specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families and children, and perpetrators
- connection and coordination of access to support
- a system-wide view of service capacity, client experience and outcomes

About the role

As a Support and Safety Hub Practitioner you will be instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective responses to Victorian women, children and families seeking support and safety through the Hub. You will be required to work within a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment.

Duties
- Work within a Specialist Family Violence Framework to deliver Hub services and develop an understanding and capabilities
- Undertake interim support as a lead practitioner or support worker aligned with the Integrated Practice Framework
- Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the Integrated Practice Framework, Operational Guidelines, Service Specifications and relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks
- Identify, assess and prioritise risk and needs of women and children, families and perpetrators, drawing on the expertise of different practitioners in a multi-disciplinary team

We currently have two full time fixed term positions available (12 month appointment and another to September 2024) based in Frankston. Salary and conditions are in accordance with our Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6.

You will have
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work / Social Sciences or related fields (mandatory)
- Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable)
- Knowledge of the physical, emotional, psychological and behavioural impact of trauma and abuse
- Demonstrated knowledge of Family & Domestic Violence including context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation
- Current and Valid VIC Driver’s Licence
