The Head of Data Strategy and Governance will lead the uplift in the maturity of the Bank’s data governance, data architecture and data management capabilities by developing strategies, policies and best practices for effective and efficient management of the RBA’s data assets across their lifecycle.

Your team

Reporting to the Chief Data Officer you will lead a diverse, cross-functional and collaborative team actively working with business and IT stakeholders to transform the Bank’s approach to data governance, data architecture and data management best practices. You will actively engage the Bank’s wider data community, including senior business stakeholders and executives.

Your background

We are seeking a seasoned senior leader with good understanding of how data management adds value in highly complex quantitative and analytical environments, ability to lead large and diverse groups of stakeholders, and a successful track record of delivering organisational change.

To be successful in this critical role you will have:
- Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.- Experience with data and analytical needs and tools used in similar organisations with highly quantitative analytical staff e.g. financial services, economic policy, physical sciences.- Demonstrated ability to understand complex and diverse data management needs and to architect technology and processes to address these needs in a way that effectively balances risk control and agility.-
- Experience with cloud-based environments and with modern data technologies and tools.- Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and partner effectively with key stakeholders internally and externally.- A strategic mindset and a proven ability to navigate complex environments and execute strategies to successful outcomes.- Relevant degree qualifications.
