**Position Information**:
Fairfield High School is a comprehensive, secondary school located in southwest Sydney, and caters for the academic and emotional needs of approximately 1000 students, with 94% from LBOTE backgrounds. Students participate in a broad range of extra-curricular activities including sports, music, debating, humanitarian causes and student leadership initiatives. A well-established Intensive English Centre is located on site as part of the high school community, which caters for newly arrived students from overseas, refugees and international students. The school has seven special education classes that support the learning of students with intellectual disabilities and autism. Fairfield High School has a balance of early career and experienced staff who focus on the delivery of a broad curriculum catering for the needs of individual students. The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices to support holistic student growth and attainment with targeted staff professional learning being instrumental in ensuring this. - 2) Demonstrated ability to lead staff at varying stages of their career though professional learning and evidence-informed, evaluative teaching practices, to support excellence in teaching and learning.- 3) Demonstrated visible leadership with the capacity to work collaboratively with the Executive Team in supporting the differentiated needs of learners, including those from EALD backgrounds, to improve student growth and attainment.- 4) Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead faculty processes and relationships to support the development of a school culture based on high expectations and shared responsibility.**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
