What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Law Clerk to join our small File Transfers Team on a full time basis in our Melbourne office. Hybrid work arrangements will be available after sufficient training.

The File Transfers Team is responsible for ensuring the firm's interests are protected when a client's retainer is terminated. As a valued member of this team, you will be working with lawyer to determine a commercial approach/process to ensure that these matters are transacted quickly, and our interests are protected in accordance with the guidance of the Professional Standards and Risk team. Your day to day duties will include:

- Ensure the transfer of all matters are completed correctly
- Prepare precedent letters to ensure matters can be actioned quickly
- Identify whether any other matters are impacted and notify the appropriate legal teams
- Draft letters to clients and external stakeholders
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Direct Legal teams to Incoming File Transfer Resources

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the jurisdiction specific to the practice
- Ability to build strong and influential relationships internally and externally
- Proactive work approach and initiative
- Ability to multitask, flexible with good time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday
