***About the Opportunity**:

- People & Culture Division at the Department of Customer Service have an exciting opportunity for an Advisor Safety and Risk Management to join our high-performing and progressive Safety & Risk Management team.
- This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively within a centralised Centre of Expertise function, in which you will conduct a range of activities including:

- Provide high level advice and support to managers and employees in management of WHS risks and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to foster consultation in risk mitigating activities and support the organisation’s strategic agenda on health, safety and wellbeing.
- Provide support to managers, workers, and consultative groups to enhance their awareness of WHS & IM information and promote compliance to legislative obligations.
- Develop and foster internal and external business relationships to manage WHS & IM information, risks, and processes to elicit positive outcomes and enhancement of the organisation’s safety management system.
- Provide expertise in the review of WHS & IM information, procedure and practice to enhance the efficacy of systems.
- Coordinate the exchange of information relevant to legislative updates and innovations within industry to foster the adaptability of the organisation’s Safety Management System.
- Facilitate strategies to proactively monitor health and safety risk, and to identify, review and plan WHS improvement strategies and training needs.
- Assist the Occupational Health and Recover at Work team in the implementation of preventative strategies

***Your day-to-day**:
In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders, providing expert advice on WHS matters while coordinating risk management activities. You will ensure that our diverse 12,000+ organisation remains compliant with current legislative requirements while promoting a culture of safety.

***About You**:
To be successful in this role you will possess a great blend of skills, including:

- Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety role, ideally within a government or large organisation.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Are adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritising workloads effectively.
- Have a solid understanding of WHS legislation and industry best practices.
- Are proactive in identifying risks and proposing innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professional with internal and external stakeholders.
- A collaborative and proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and also work independently.
- A customer centric and growth mindset with great communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with continuous improvement activities to delivery business outcomes
