Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals used in consumer and industrial products. Due to their consistent growth and current expansion we are searching for a Lead Chemical Process Engineer for their Wilmington, DE area plant. This person will be the technical expert at the site for a new petrochemical process with a focus on continuous improvement of process, process safety, quality, costs and energy consumption along with leading and managing the plant technical team.

**Job Responsibilities **Include**:

- **Process Optimization**:working to improve product quality, reduce operating costs, increasing capacity, throughput, productivity and further streamlining the process
- Interact with hourly operating staff plus monitoring process operations metrics and product quality reports looking for opportunities to improve performance and minimize waste
- Troubleshoot plant process problems assisting operators and interact with plant chemist and maintenance to resolve quality and equipment issues
- Participating in the plant Continuous Improvement Program
- Responsible for all management Chemical Process changes per site procedures
- **Project Engineering**:initiating, justifying and managing small capital projects through design, purchasing, construction and start-up support including procedure writing; project manager on small to mid-sized capital projects
- Being the in-house process engineering point of contact on capital projects assisting with start-up trouble shooting and commissioning
- Developing and reviewing plant operating procedures
- Working with HSE team to resolve safety/environmental issues and participating in site audits
- **Chemical Process Safety Management**:participating on the Process Hazards Committee and lead Process Hazards Reviews in compliance with OSHA PSM
- Interface with operations and production supervisors to provide technical support. Engaging in extensive interaction with senior management on our site

**Job Requirements**
- BS in Chemical Engineering plus 7 years minimum of process engineering in a high-hazard continuous process manufacturing environment
- Continuous process distillation experience in plant using catalytic reactions
- Plant process optimization and troubleshooting experience
- OSHA and PSM experience
