**Remuneration**: Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $134,411 to $155,445 plus super and leave loading

**Location**: Based in Parramatta with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, including work from home options (35-hour week)

**About You/ Role**

Are you ready to make a difference in times of emergency? Do you thrive in high-pressure environments and possess strong leadership skills? We are seeking a highly capable and dedicated individual to join our team as Manager, Emergency Response. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering support services, to schools alongside emergency services organisations for the response to major incidents, emergencies, and disasters impacting NSW schools and workplaces across the state.
- Ability to remain composed and calm in high-pressure situations.
- Quick adjustment to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Ability to understand and manage emotions in challenging situations.
- Strong analytical skills for effective decision-making during emergencies.

**Skills and Experience**
- Strong incident and emergency management skills, including decision-making under pressure, coordinating response efforts, and ensuring safety during emergencies.
- Experience in leading and motivating teams, delegating tasks, and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Knowledge and experience in developing strategies, conducting exercises, and ensuring business continuity during emergencies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships, conveying complex information, and representing the department.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Working with Children Check for paid employment or willingness to obtain one
- Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to travel
- Willingness to work a seven-day roster during a major event

- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
