**Safety Assurance Specialist**

**Location**: Primarily North Sydney with some work in other Sydney locations.

**Work Arrangement**: Full-time, with occasional WFH flexibility

**Contract Duration**: 12-18 months fixed-term

**Salary**: $150,000-200,000 per annum

**Start Date**: Immediate availability preferred (max. 4-week notice period)

**Working Visa**: Full Australian work entitlements required

**About the Role**:
AdvisoryHR are recruiting on behalf of our client a knowledgeable Safety Assurance Specialist to support the an in-progress Sydney Metro project.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide guidance and support in developing and maintaining safety assurance processes.
- Provide expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development / review of safety plans and safety cases.
- Prepare detailed safety assurance documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of safety procedures to identify and control potential hazards.
- Engage in various aspects of rail safety, rail operations, system safety, and human factors.
- Collaborate with project teams, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
- 5-10 years in the safety assurance space within the rail industry, preferably in metro systems, though heavy rail experience will also be considered.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, safety assurance, rail safety, or a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety responsibilities under the Rail Safety National Law and other applicable safety standards.
- Flexible and willing to get involved in multiple aspects of rail safety and operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
