Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The position of Principal Coding and Documentation Liaison will:

- Lead, manage and hold overall accountability for functions within the Coding and Documentation Liaison team, including coding quality and optimisation audits, clinical documentation improvement, documentation education, and clinical liaison activities with the goal of high-quality coded data and optimisation of weighted activity units (WAU).
- Coordinate and conduct coder-clinician liaison functions to facilitate effective, dynamic and regular communication with clinicians across service divisions in CHQ.
- Design, conduct and evaluate ongoing documentation education across service divisions to improve the overall quality of clinical documentation and clinician knowledge of the impact of documentation and coding on the optimisation of revenue for the hospital.
- Monitor and analyse Activity Based Funding (ABF) data to enable a customised approach to Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) optimisation audits and clinical documentation education and identification of areas for coder education.
- Provide regular reports of audit findings, optimisation outcomes, documentation query outcomes, and clinical engagement activities.
