**Why Your Role Matters**

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join UNSW working within the Future Students team on matters of market growth, product development, go-to-market and a foundational project covering pricing. They will acknowledge this as a growth opportunity and will drive projects integral to the unit’s strategy and overall success. They will come with consultancy experience and expertise in areas such as pricing, segmentation, product development, positioning and go-to-market. They will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal as key elements of this role include producing ‘client-ready’ structured reports and presentations and delivering well evidenced commercial and strategy analyses.

The Future Student team is responsible for strengthening marketing and recruitment efforts, ensuring UNSW is the premier destination in the state for local students and the premier destination in the country for internationals. The role requires experience with commercial analysis and interrogating data from a variety of internal and external sources, to produce high quality insights and ‘client-ready’ strategy papers and reports that provide commercial recommendations to UNSW’s leadership teams. The position will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to data analysis, insight generation and reporting.

This is a new fixed-term role. The Strategy Manager reports to the Associate Director, Strategy & Performance and has no direct reports.

**Responsibilities Summary**
- Lead and support the team with a variety of strategy analysis, especially related to pricing
- Work closely with the business unit leadership team on long-term strategy and problem-solving striving to develop rigorous, well-supported recommendations that enable the organisation to continue delivering on its KPIs
- Conduct research to identify and quantify risks and opportunities, developing a thorough understanding of the drivers and performance levers of the sector
- Produce ‘client-ready’ professionally structured reports, presentations, and briefing notes for stakeholders across the organisation on the areas under their responsibility
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify trends, opportunities, and threats with a focus on pricing, product and go-to-market and topics of strategic importance to the business and incorporate findings to continually strengthen UNSW’s competitive position
- Contribute input to support business case development including generating forecasts, cost benefit analyses, returns on investment and performance measures

**Who You Are**

We are looking for someone who is excited about UNSW’s vision and values and is curious about the Higher Education sector. We’d love you to come equipped with:

- Demonstrated experience in strategy, commercial consulting or business intelligence development, ideally in a highly regulated environment and ideally related to pricing. We value external knowledge and expertise so Higher Education experience in not essential
- A knowledge of strategy frameworks and the ability to distil significant amounts of information into actionable commercial insight
- Demonstrated experience dealing with stakeholders at senior leadership level
- A bias for action and a knack to learn new things. Ability to work flexibly and productively as an effective team member, ensuring deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
