**About us**
At the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) we work to protect the sustainability of natural resources and accelerate ongoing economic growth, job creation and regional development.
Western Australia’s primary industries - including agriculture, commercial fisheries and aquaculture - provide jobs and exports and underpin a growing food industry and other agribusinesses. Our fisheries also support a thriving recreational fishing sector and regional tourism.
An important part of our role is to support the growth of strong regional communities that are desirable places to live, work and invest.
**About the Talent Register**
This Talent Register is a simple way for you to register your interest in working within our People and Culture team, to support the great work that DPIRD employees undertake across the State. We actively monitor the register and will contact you if an opportunity arises that suits your skills and experience, or your indicated area of interest for entry level roles.
The full or part time job opportunities that may arise include:
- Short Term contracts - fixed term employment for up to twelve months
- Work Experience
- Secondment/Transfer opportunities at level transfer (if you are a current public sector employee)
**About the Opportunities**
As part of the Corporate Services pillar, People and Culture provides a comprehensive human resources consultancy, advisory and support service. We provide the organisational management foundations to enable DPIRD to operate as a high-performing department, and support to DPIRD’s employee, client and stakeholder needs.
**Current and future opportunities exist across the People and Culture team in the following areas**:
Our **Human Resource Systems and Reporting** team provides:
- HR systems administration, configuration, controls, testing for a complex payroll environment
- Improvements to HR system efficiencies and functionality
- Workforce data reporting and analytics
Our **Industrial and Employee Relations** team provides:
- Complex employee relations investigations
- Facilitation to resolve complex industrial relations, grievance, disciplinary and performance management issues
Our **Human Resource Business Partnering** team provides:
- Advice and coordination of recruitment, selection and onboarding
- Advice and guidance on a range of workforce needs through partnering with business areas
- Management of position data and job descriptions
Our **Payroll and Remuneration Services** team provides:
- Customer focussed personnel and payroll services
- Maintaining personnel records and fortnightly payroll production
- Basic through to complex payroll and remuneration processing activities
- Quality assurance and compliance with relevant legislation and policy
Our **Organisational Development** team provides:
- Design, development and implementation of strategic workforce planning
- Learning and development programs
- Organisational effectiveness and cultural transformation
- Talent management
