**THE COMPANY**

This company is an innovative and entrepreneurial mid-sized investment-based organisation who employ approx. 700 staff across Australia.

They are undertaking a large IT transformation which includes the establishment of IT Shared Services, in-sourcing of IT functions from external providers, and uplifting cyber security across the business.

This role could be performed predominately remotely however occasional travel is be required.

**ROLE SNAPSHOT**

Newly created Security Operations Analyst role responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information assets.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining a robust security posture by monitoring security events, investigating incidents, and implementing proactive measures.

The primary objective of this role is to detect and respond to security threats, minimize the impact of incidents, and maintain a secure environment for the organization's systems, networks, and data.

**_Responsibilities include: _**
- **Security Monitoring** - monitor alerts generated by security tools (SIEM, IDS etc), then analyse & investigate potential security incidents + action if required.
- ** Incident Response** - execute incident response procedures; conduct in-depth analysis to determine root cause, impact, and remediation activities.
- ** Threat Intelligence** - proactively leverage threat intelligence sources to identify emerging threats and proactively adjust security controls and procedures accordingly.
- ** SecOps Improvement** - continuously identify opportunities automate security processes, streamline workflows, implement best practices, and improve metrics/reporting..
- ** Security Incident Documentation** - prepare detailed incident reports (scope, impact, actions) and contribute to continuous improvement.
- ** Security Awareness and Training** - assist in developing & delivering security awareness programs and foster a security-conscious culture.
- ** Collaboration & Communication** - collaborate & communicate with cross-functional teams and external vendors, including both IT and non-IT stakeholders.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / PERSONAL QUALITIES**

Suitable for an IT Security Analyst with hands-on experience monitoring and responding to security incidents.

An up-and-coming security professional with strong M365 experience who wants to focus on security can also be considered.

**_The following is required: _**
- Demonstrated experience in security operations, incident response, or a related cybersecurity role.
- Knowledge of security technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection solutions
- Strong knowledge & experience with Microsoft 365 E3/E5 & Azure.
- Experience leading security improvement initiatives is beneficial.
- Security framework knowledge is beneficial (e.g. CIS, Essential Eight)
- Display a good sense of ownership & accountability.
- Excellent communication skills - able to deliver technical IT concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Good relationship building skills and capable of influencing others (technical & non-technical).
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks and make decisions.

**This is full time permanent role and is offering $110,000 - $120,000 (including super) - depending on experience.**
