**About the Branch**:
The Corporate Branch is responsible for delivering enabling services that support the agency’s purpose and ensure its effective and efficient operation.

We deliver services across numerous disciplines being strategic stakeholder engagement, human resources, finance and procurement, planning, performance and parliamentary services, facilities management, security and corporate communications, including a contact centre.

**Objectives**:
The Branch strives for excellence in the provision of corporate services and meeting the objectives and KPIs contained in the CER Corporate Plan. By doing so, we:

- frame our work and engagement against the agency’s cultural anchors and risk appetite
- ensure responsiveness to business needs, think broadly and deliver cohesive, considered and impactful work
- work collaboratively across the agency, contributing to high priority and strategic work that will deliver positive outcomes
- build capability with a focus on leadership at all levels
- look for opportunities to implement continuous improvement that delivers efficiencies and enables our people to work on higher level tasks
- keep informed of issues the agency faces, including legal and legislative obligations, and
- focus on effective management of human and financial resources in line with approved budget.

**About the Section**:
A restructure of the former Communications Section occurred in May 2024 which split the focus on corporate and strategic communication into 2 distinct and separate sections.

The Corporate Communications Section is made up of 4 work teams, as follows:

- Internal Communications and Events
- Data and Web Management (including publishing)
- Content and Design (including UX/UI and creative design)
- Contact Centre (first point of contact for all external enquiries to the agency)

The section has a ‘can-do’ attitude and provides a collaborative, professional and solutions-oriented approach to challenges.

Working in tandem with the Strategic Communications Section, it delivers cohesive, considered and impactful communication products for the agency, focussed on user experience and engagement. It also works closely with staff and senior executive to provide communication advice and supports the delivery of agency outcomes.

**Role Responsibilities and Duties**:
The Manager, Corporate Communications is part of the Corporate Branch leadership team and plays a critical role in effectively communicating the work of the CER within the organisation and to industry/scheme stakeholders and the broader community. This is done through our website, events and conferences and a dedicated contact centre.

The role leads and sets the strategic direction and work practices of the Corporate Communications Section and liaises with all areas of the agency and Branch to guide and support priorities. The role is required to undertake work with a high level of complexity, utilising significant judgement to provide the agency with communications advice and guidance.

Duties of the Manager, Corporate Communications includes but are not limited to:

- Work closely with the agency executive, and internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver innovative, evidence based, high quality communication solutions and products that enhance user experience.
- Provide expert advice and support to the agency executive on corporate communication opportunities and risks, including for complex or sensitive matters.
- Lead and set the strategic direction and work practices for a multidisciplinary team and develop and mentor them to promote excellence in service and foster a culture of collaboration, initiative and accountability.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the section and manage resources, including budgeting and forecasting, reporting and recruitment.
- Work collaboratively with the Manager Strategic Communications to deliver high quality, integrated communications for the agency using a consistent and coordinated approach.
- Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of CER and APS processes and relevant policy priorities impacting the agency.
