**About the role**:
A highly rewarding, part time (2 days per week) opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as the Work Education (Cookery) and Transition Education Teacher until December 2023

As the Work Education (cookery stream) and Transition Education Teacher you will be providing high quality and innovative teaching and course materials to students with intellectual disabilities and/or cognitive impairments. You will be supporting student success in Work Education and Transition Education courses to help improve their employment and/or educational pathways.

You will be delivering planned lessons using a variety of methods including Moodle to engage students and meet their learning styles and needs as well as providing a safe and supportive learning environment that enables students to successfully complete their qualification. You will also have the opportunity to complete workplace visits during work placements when necessary.

The Work Education cookery and Transition Education Teacher is a member of the Disability Enterprises team in the Faculty of Health, Community, Disability and Animal Sciences. Disability Enterprises provides accredited foundation programs at Certificate I and II level such as Transition Education and Work Education, for learners with intellectual disabilities. The Disability Enterprise unit forms partnerships on behalf of BHI with Disability Service Providers and Disability Enterprises and delivers accredited training to their participants and employees.

This role is part time.5 FTE (2 days per week), fixed term until December 2023 and salary is in line with the MEA Level 1-3 dependent on qualifications.

**About You**:

- Certificate IV TAE (Training and Assessment) or higher teaching qualification in adult education
- Certificate III or higher in Cookery
- Passionate about knowledge sharing and ability to work within a team, contributing to the positive work environment and culture
- Proven ability to be readily adaptable to changing circumstances within the classroom
- Highly supportive and compassionate with a commitment to continuous improvement and high level communication
- Ability to design and deliver engaging and relevant course materials and lessons
- Experience understanding adult learning principles and ability to utilise learning management systems
