THE ROLE
This position will focus on the development and implementation of health and education initiatives for children and young people in out-of-home care so that their diverse needs are better identified and responded to.
You will have responsibility for developing and supporting cross agency processes that ensure timely health and education assessments, and for coordinating children and young people's treatment and support packages as determined through the assessment process.
You will work in close consultation and partnership with Department of Health and Human Services Divisional and central staff, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Community Service Organisations, local schools and education providers, and community health providers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Plan, develop and establish systems for the successful management and delivery of health and education assessments and the implementation of treatment and support packages for children and young people placed in out-of-home care, within program objectives, timelines and budget.
- Analyse complex problems and issues that create barriers to health and education assessments for children and young people in out of home care and generate innovative solutions to addressing these problems.
- Develop and maintain processes and systems to facilitate data collection, quality assurance, outcomes analysis and reporting. Prepare and present comprehensive reports, Ministerial briefings and submissions as required.
