**About this Role**:

- HSE Advisor role with RTW responsibilities. At least 5-10 years HSE Advisor experience across high-risk verticals (Logistics/Transport/Shipping/ Construction)
- Report directly to HSEQ Manager
- The key role of the HSE Advisor is to provide advice, training, consultation, monitoring, and governance, to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant WHS legislation, VICT policies and procedures are implemented and effective.
- Return to work experience and handling injury management claims will be a key function of this role. This role provides advice to management and all worker levels.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Return to work experience and handling injury management claims
- SWMS reviews and SOP's
- Provide on call HSE support to the VICT Management team as when directed by the Chief HSES Officer.
- Stand in as lead HSES contact, this includes OOH incident response.
- Deliver identified and agreed components of the VICT Workplace Training and Development Program.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards, legislation, and other business needs with relation to training and high-risk licenses applicable to VICT.
- Complete site safety audits and inspections.
- Monitor daily site tasks, complete hazard assessments, and determine ways of reducing risks.
- Review all HSE training materials.
- Assist in audits, as required.
- Assist with the review and analysis of HSE performance data with a view to identifying trends and activities for improvement.
- Facilitate and lead in Incident Investigation
- Assist with risk management support, such as ad hoc or scheduled risk assessments as and when identified as a priority support.
- Support and actively contribute to VICT commitment to a safe workplace.
- Promote the HSE Management systems and train staff in its content and implementation.
- Facilitate and lead Risk Assessments in accordance with the site schedule.
- Provide VICT and direct subcontractor HSE support and advice with regards to JSEA registers and reviews of risk assessments.
- Review contractor management safety plans to ensure compliance is maintained. Areas of non-conformity to be addressed and rectified.
- Assist Operational Managers with the implementation of site based HSE improvement programs or campaigns.
- Assist in the preparation of the reporting as required.
- Monitor activities to evaluate compliance with the HSE Management Plan and seek areas of improvement.
- Produce safety alerts and toolbox talks, as required.
- Proactively respond to HSE issues, ensuring investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist the business in the Identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, including improvements to the VICT HSE system.
- Be a point of escalation and have information on all training coordination tasks undertaken by the Training Coordinator.
- Be a point of escalation and have information on the Return-to-Work program undertaken by the RTW Coordinator for workers involved in RTW plans and Work Cover claims.

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- ** Diploma/Certificate IV in Health & Safety (MUST HAVE)**:

- ** Return to work experience (MUST HAVE)**:

- ICAM Lead Investigator
- Construction White Card (Nice to have)
- First Aid Certificate (Nice to have)
- ** At least 8-10 years of experience as a HSE professional with Return-to-work experience.**:

- Proven ability to facilitate and manage projects.
- Proven ability to establish, and work, within strict timelines.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse group of staff.
- Ability to present and communicate HSE matters to executives and senior management.
- Experience at leading and investigating incidents, accidents, near misses.
