**About the role**

The Development Assessment Officer role is contained within both the Fast Track Planning Team and the Development Planning Team within Council’s Planning Unit. The role is primarily responsible for all tasks associated with the assessment reporting and determination of Development Applications and Subdivision Certificates.

With a focus on delivering great customer service, your demonstrated communication creates easy collaboration between teams across the business and externally to achieve desirable outcomes.

**Requirements**:

- Recognised and completed tertiary qualification in Town Planning from a University or College
- Strong understanding of the Environmental Planning Assessment Act 1979 and Regulation, Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams
- Outstanding time management skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to provide both internal and external customers quality service that exceeds their expectations
- Strong computer skills and ability to operate computer-based systems Class C Driver’s licence
