**About You**
- Willing to enrol and study a Certificate III in Individual Support qualification.
- Excellent communication skills enabling you to communicate effectively with residents, team members and visitors.
- Ability to understand and follow through with instructions, processes and procedures in a busy environment.
- Basic knowledge of technology.

**Day to day you will learn how to**:

- To work as part of a team to provide personal care in a neighbourhood/ community like environment for residents.
- Assist residents to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence, dignity, privacy and quality of life.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of information about resident care and wellbeing through appropriate channels to the Registered/ Clinical Nurse or Facility Manager.
- Take a proactive approach to the health and safety of residents, staff and visitors and share ideas for improvement.

**Throughout your 12-month training you will participate in**:

- Weekly virtual training sessions with Trainer
- Monthly Face-to-Face workshop training session with Trainer
- Quarterly Block Training at TAFE Southbank

**About the Role**
- aged between 15-24 years or 45 years +
- long-term unemployed
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- migrant or refugee from culturally and linguistically diverse background
- person with disability
- displaced worker
- woman re-entering the workforce
- veteran, ex-ADF personnel or their families and
- Australian or New Zealand citizen or;
- hold a visa subclass that is eligible for subsidised training.
- have not exhausted the maximum of two government funding contributions under the User Choice program.
- not currently be undertaking a traineeship or apprenticeship under User Choice funding.

Successful applicants will enrol into a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support course, participate in both classroom and on-the-job learning to gain the skills, experience and national recognised qualification to be recognised as a fully qualified Personal Carer.
