**About the Role**
The Creative Culture & Economic Development Department is united by the purpose to connect communities for creativity and prosperity. The Creative Culture portfolio includes Darebin’s premier Arts facilities (Darebin Arts Centre, Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre, Bundoora Homestead Arts Centre, and various Community Hubs and Halls) as well as generating significant arts programs, events and performances.
This position will oversee the Festival & Events team, that includes a dynamic team of producers and programmers that deliver:
- FUSE Festival - Darebin’s contemporary, multi-arts festival.
- Large scale Council events - as per Council’s resolutions
- Event advisory - to all large-scale events and festivals in Darebin, run by third parties, including the delivery of the Darebin Event Permit program.
This position requires an adaptive leader, with proven track record in achieving outcomes within complex political and community environments. A natural relationship builder and storyteller, you will be good at building internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to educate and coach your team to deliver good practice events, festivals, and programming.
**Skills & Experience**
- Extensive experience in the planning, coordination, budgeting and delivery of festivals, events, and programming in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Significant experience in leading change and delivering outcomes within a complex, political, high-profile organisation.
- Experience in working with diverse communities and creatives including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, multicultural and interfaith communities, LGTBQIA+, intersectional identities, people living with disabilities and others.
- Highly developed skills in storytelling, narrative and compelling report writing.
- Experience in team leadership and fostering an inclusive and flexible team environment.
