The Head of Industry Affairs is a critical role in our Government, Industry and International team within Corporate Affairs, responsible for leading significant policy reform and submissions. In this role, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders, government bodies and industry forums to identify, influence and articulate strategic policy and regulatory priorities on behalf of the Qantas Group. Policies include airports, noise, slots, traffic rights, passenger rights, sustainability, regional aviation and workforce planning.
The Head of Industry Affairs will also lead the Group’s response to the Government’s Aviation White Paper, addressing issues that directly impact operations.
You’ll have
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Public Policy, Economics or a related field
- Significant experience in aviation, infrastructure, transport, tourism and/or business policy and submissions
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, and collaborate with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to solve complex analytical problems and a strategic approach
- Proven influencing and relationship management skills, and ability to adapt to relevant regulatory and policy agencies
- Strong team player, with an interest in supporting and developing others
- An understanding of the aviation industry and business drivers highly desirable but not essential
