About Ripley Valley State Secondary School
Ripley Valley State Secondary College is the newest secondary school in the greater Ipswich region opening in January 2020. In 2022, our secondary college caters for students in years 7 to 10, growing one year level each year until our first year 12 students graduate in 2024. As a new school in a rapidly growing area our College has created a growing reputation for high expectations, innovation, inclusion and connection to community. This strong foundation is reflected in our College vision.
About the Role
Ripley Valley State Secondary College opened in 2020 and currently caters for approximately 1050 students in Years 7 to 12 in 2024. The College is in a rapid growth area and will accommodate more than 2000 students when at full capacity. The College has established a strong reputation for high expectations, innovation, inclusion and connection to community.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
- Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
- Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
- A strong working knowledge of inclusive practices as well the supports and interventions that can be used to assist diverse learners engage with the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE/QCIA) and AARA requirements.
- Must provide leadership and direction for the whole school as it relates to diverse learners and inclusive practices across all learning areas and phases with a particular focus on years 10 - 12.
- Will be required to case manage Extensive and Substantial students within our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and lead a support staff team to improve learning outcomes for all students.
- Have experience in QCE/QCIA and AARA processes to improve student outcomes.
- Leaders joining the College must have exceptional relational skills, be driven to build a positive, welcoming and supportive learning culture, demonstrate deep understanding of inclusive practices in order to implement evidence-based practice, and be willing and able to commit to the college's development and growth.
