Melbourne, Australia CitiPower and Powercor Full time

**Compliance Analyst**

Melbourne, VIC, AU, 3149

**About us**:
CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy own and operate the electricity distribution networks servicing 1.9 million customers located across 65% of Victoria. These customers include large numbers of households as well as commercial and industrial businesses, world class arts, health and sporting precincts, popular tourism regions and the biggest infrastructure projects in Victoria.

We provide reliable, safe, and affordable electricity and our businesses are independently rated as the best in the country for their efficiency. Sustaining this is all the more critical and challenging as greater electrification of homes, fleets and industries becomes a core strategy for reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change.

We value inclusive leadership and teams and celebrate the results of succeeding together.
But our greatest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate within. This includes their physical safety - ensuring everyone gets home safely everyday - as well as their psychological safety by ensuring everyone has the resources and support needed to achieve a work-life balance and be the best they can be.

**About the role**:
The Compliance Analyst provides analysis to support the management of compliance and economic regulatory matters involving the Australia Energy Regulator (AER), Essential Services Commission (ESC), Australian Energy Market Commission and government departments.

As part of the Regulation team, this role focuses on liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to best meet the compliance obligations of the business.

This role is dynamic and challenging, in an exciting time to be in the energy sector. With every day bringing new challenges, the Compliance Analyst will have the chance to grow and develop their skills while fostering the compliance culture of the business.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Provide analysis and advice on general compliance, economic and regulatory related matters to stakeholders
- Assist in the management of compliance issues that arise internally or with regulatory bodies, which may include the provision of analysis, insights, options and/or co-ordination of those issues
- Prepare and issue questionnaires which assess our compliance status against all regulatory obligations in our register on an annual basis. Collate, interpret and analyse the results of the questionnaire
- Maintain breach registers and support the business in implementation of breach remediation activities for non-compliances identified through the compliance questionnaire, or through other internal reporting processes
- Provide analysis and support for responses to regulator queries, complaints, consultations, as well as reporting obligations. Undertake or oversee internal targeted reviews of regulatory obligations as required
- Co-ordinate and lead monthly meetings with internal stakeholders to monitor, identify, investigate or strengthen controls associated with compliance with the AER’s ring-fencing guideline
- Co-ordinate any external audits such as ring fencing or ESC thematic audits
- Review, co-ordinate and ensure timely submission of compliance performance reporting requirements
- Undertake regulatory compliance education programs across our businesses, including for ring-fencing and as part of the induction process for new starters

**To succeed in the role you’ll have**:

- An understanding of regulatory environments, including the obligations that govern a regulated business's behaviour and operations
- Previous experience in a compliance or audit role within a regulated business, or experience working for government departments or regulators is desirable
- A tertiary qualification in either business, economics, law or engineering
- Good attention to detail and familiarity with legal interpretation
- Demonstrated understanding of the compliance reporting requirements of an economic regulator, such as the AER and ESC, would be highly advantageous

**Your career with us**:
We foster diverse teams across our business, all contributing to great customer and community outcomes. Our people are our most important asset, and we continually invest in nurturing their capability.

We proudly strive to provide a safe, inclusive, and sustainable environment where all our people feel respected, valued and supported to bring their whole selves to work and be the best they can be.

With an embedded Inclusion & Diversity Strategy and initiatives like our Women in Power networking group, and Sparkle, our LGBTIQ+ allies pride network, we’re committed to equal opportunities for all employees.

Our greatest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate within. This includes their physical safety - ensuring everyone gets home safely everyday - as well as their psychological safety, by ensuring everyone has the resources and supp
