**About the role**

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist is responsible for providing specialised WHS advisory, systems management and reporting services to the Region on a broad range of routine and complex WHS issues to ensure the effective implementation of the “One TAFE” WHS system.

This role will see you responsible for providing expert advice, support and guidance to ensure TAFE NSW can meet their accountabilities and all of its statutory obligations for safety by driving a positive safety culture, working closely with leaders and workforce to coach and mentor for safe behaviours.

"This role is located at Kingswood Campus and requires regular travel within the Western Sydney Region."

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and Codes of Practice.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including teaching and facilities management and logistics teams, to establish and maintain a safe working environment.

**Essential Requirements**
- Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
- Class C driver’s licence with the capacity to travel for TAFE NSW business purposes as required.
- Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description
