What’s the job?

Reporting to the Head of Library and Information Services, the Library Customer Services Manager is responsible for managing multi-campus Library services, with responsibility for effective and efficient campus-based as well as online, student-facing Library services. They lead the student-facing Library team and supervise the Library Technicians in the provision of core operational and technical library services to students and staff: supporting students in the development of information skills. They ensure optimal efficiency of library processes and procedures, and consistency of these procedures across a national service. They provide guidance in the management of the Library’s on campus and online presence, and work with the other Discipline Librarians to ensure the smooth running of services delivered by the library.

Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Manage complex, multi-campus Library services, with responsibility for effective and efficient campus-based and online student-facing Library services.- Lead and develop a high performing team that collaborates effectively with other departments and units in the University to deliver excellent client-focused services.- Conduct research and usage data analysis to identify emerging trends and best practices in library operations and technologies and make recommendations for service improvements.- Develop and maintain a Customer Service Charter mapped to Service Level Agreements across the University.- Manage the provision of reference and circulation services and monitor the library's physical and electronic collections,- Organise, document and update library procedures and schedule rosters.- Collaborate with senior library staff to develop and implement library policies, procedures, and services.- Participate in library outreach and promotion efforts, including designing displays and creating promotional materials

Who you are- A Bachelor Degree or above in Library or Information Services or equivalent is required for this position, along with relevant library work experience. Eligibility for professional membership of ALIA will be looked on favourably.- Demonstrated experience in usage data analysis and the ability to make data-driven decisions to evaluate the effectiveness of library services and resources.- Previous experience leading a team- Demonstrated experience in a university library is preferable- Passionate about student experience

This is a full time role based at our Melbourne campus (Flinders).
