- Anglo American Steelmaking Coal**
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

**Job Description**:

- The Diversity Specialist is accountable for supporting, driving, and reviewing efficient and effective diversity programs and initiatives that deliver Steelmaking Coal’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.

This is a full-time permanent role based in our Brisbane Corporate Office with flexible working arrangements available.

The role will be rewarding and varied and will involve the following:

- Delivery of Steelmaking Coal's Diversity Strategy through relevant programs and identifying new diversity opportunities.
- Design, implement and embed diversity programmes/initiatives.
- Deliver the Indigenous Employment program for Steelmaking Coal, including partnering with operational HR to ensure understanding and support training and educations requirements.
- Audit and review diversity programmes to ensure effectiveness and learning opportunities are implemented to ensure best practice.
- Drive and promote diversity goals within Steelmaking Coal and ensure effective communication strategy.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure diversity best practice for enabling attraction.
- Provide comprehensive analysis and conduct regulatory reporting of the Steelmaking Coal’s diversity goals in line with external benchmarks.
- Identify and formalise partnerships to support diversity in the workplace, which aligns to Steelmaking Coal's vision and strategy.
- Support the review and identification of systematic bias and inequality in the organisation using methods such as audits, pulse checks, lived experience reviews and data.
- Identify and monitor bias and inequality through data and qualitative information.
- Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in HR or a related field (desirable) combined with practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role/context.
- Strong track record of designing and implementing diversity programmes and initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to building rapport and trust with operational leaders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to positively engage and collaborate on project activities.
- Effective communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to be able to work effectively and collaboratively in projects team to achieve collective outcome.
