**The Team**

The People Services Team three primary functions of Work Health and Safety (WHS), Recruitment, and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).

**The Role**
This role is responsible for contributing to the team’s current, ongoing and future success through the following:

- Researching, analysing and recommending national and international D&I best practice
- providing high level initiative and judgement when interpreting relevant legislation, procedures and or policy, covering regulatory, technical, professional and project management streams
- undertaking of work that is complex in nature
- providing detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice
- working supportively and cooperatively with all genders, people living with disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes
- finalisation and launch of Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in coordination with our internal RAP working group and Reconciliation Australia (RA)
- establishing and commencing actions relating to recent completion of the Access and Inclusion Index we completed in conjunction with Australian Network on Disability (AND)
- drafting various communication pieces
- coordinating and active involvement in a project exploring the female perspectives and experiences of working for the department
- other administrative tasks as required.
- well-developed analytical and decision-making skills
- experience working within a similiar D&I role
- ability to provide technical operational and policy advice within an area of specialisation
- demonstrated communication skills - written and verbal

Applicants must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline/Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.

This is an 8 week assignment with opportunity for permanency. The successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week across a 3:2 CBD:WFH arrangement.
