This is a new VPS4 3yr Fixed term position in the Commercial and Corporate team.

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make it easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses to interact with government. We're working to connect and digitise our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

**Shared Service Provider**

The Shared Service Provider (SSP) team delivers property, carpool and library services to clients across the Victorian Government and associated agencies. SSP strives to be a provider of choice, achieving value for the VPS by delivering strategic, client focused services. The team is committed to offering their expertise to deliver efficient, relevant and effective services to support clients.

**About the role**

The Contract and Procurement Support Officer role supports the coordination of contract management and procurement activities and projects. This includes end-to-end procurement and contract management, engagement of consultants and contractors, contract administration & governance, financial reporting and stakeholder management.

Key Accountabilities
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities and strategic needs across SSP to inform procurement work
- Lead timely drafting of required documentation
- Maintain procurement policies and procedures knowledge
- Manage tasks and projects using project management methods to meet agreed timeframes and ensure delivery of consistent outcomes
- Build strong stakeholder relationships by providing expert advice on procurement and contract management
- Communicate Commercial outcomes to ensure relevant stakeholders realise the benefits of these services
- Support the Team Manager to oversee and quality assure procurement outputs are aligned with SSP goals
- Support SSP contract management activities to meet all objectives
- Contribute to the ongoing performance assessment of SSP contracts to evaluate obligations

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Ability to work collaboratively and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to participate proactively in the identification of opportunities for innovation in service delivery.
- Experience with and knowledge of contract management and procurement policies, standards and guidelines within the public sector.
- Meticulous recording-keeping skills.
- Ability to translate a complex document or contract into an audience-relevant format.
- Experience in delivering services focussing on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced change environment, including demonstration of a pro-active approach to customer service.

Mandatory requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
