The Role
The Contract Procurement Officer duties:
The Contract Procurement Officer will be required to administer contracts to deliver procurement related documentation including schedules, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk and performance reviews, contract change proposals and other contract management documentation. In addition, they will be expected to undertake procurement activities including reporting upon and adjustment of plans and budgets, obtaining quotes from suppliers and assessing value for money to obtain delegate approval and finalise approval procurement activities.
About our Team
As part of the Joint Aviation Systems Division within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, AvSSPO deliver ground support equipment assets and test and measurement equipment assets under contracted delivery arrangements. In support of Defence Capability and Operations, AvSSPO is located within the Melbourne CBD.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong organisational skills with attention to detail; the ability to follow instructions and processes in accordance with policy, legislation, and operating frameworks; critical thinking skills, with the ability to be assertive in decision making; and a positive and inclusive approach to working as a part of a team.
The ability to seek, interpret and provide recommendations on procurement and contract management issues and practices, resolution of competing priorities and working with stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver strategic outcomes is vital. Experience in working with multi-discipline teams and maintaining constructive cross-team communication will also be highly regarded.
