**The Opportunity**
We're seeking a Team Leader to join our Procurement Services Directorate, which is responsible for providing end to end procurement services, including strategic oversight and direction, to enable the successful delivery of the Department’s transport infrastructure projects.

The Team Leader, Construction Procurement is responsible for leading a team of procurement professionals to ensure that projects are procured correctly, and the pipeline of infrastructure projects is managed both internally and externally. The role also works closely with the Department’s Contract Management and Project Delivery Directorates.

This is a key industry facing role as well as being the prime contact for other Divisions and Agencies in respect to upcoming projects, providing expert advice in respect to all aspects of major project procurements.

**About You**
We're seeking a proactive leader with a strong background in managing and developing procurement teams. Your focus will be on ensuring that processes run smoothly, deadlines are met, and high-quality work is produced. You will demonstrate skills in and experience in providing timely support to your team, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining open lines of communication with both your team and senior management.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

- **Leadership** - ability to lead, motivate, and influence a procurement team to ensure service performance.
- **Team & Process Development - **assessing and supporting team capabilities, providing training opportunities and driving continuous improvement, including across procedures and processes within the team.
- **Procurement Expertise - **understanding and knowledge of the end-to-end procurement process, with a focus on compliance and high-quality documentation.
- **Time Management -** ability to manage critical deadlines, multiple tasks, and competing priorities, ensuring timely feedback and reporting.
- **Communication -** you communicate clearly and professionally, in writing and verbally, providing clear and concise advice to both your team and senior management, and effectively resolving and negotiate conflict.

**Requirements/Experience**
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline to facilitate commercially aware procurement services OR Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) will be well regarded.

**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

**Remuneration**
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 per annum
