**_ Your motivation, interpersonal skills, and expertise as a Himilo Careers Coordinator will see you excel in this role as you:_**
- Provide high quality and engaging employment information to communtiy members/job seekers that informs and improves career aspirations and outcomes
- Provide targeted, intensive one to one support for job seekers to achieve sustained employment outcomes and career success
- Develop employer networks and partnerships to improve career pathways and employment opportunities
- Work with Himilo management to set and achieve ambitious and valuable KPIs in relation to successful employability and employment outcomes
- Engage with the broader organisation to collaborate and create innovative supports and solutions to employment barriers
- Strong customer service and/or strong oral and written communication skills

**_ What you will need: _**
- Sound knowledge and understanding of employment services
- Knowledge of communtiy engagement and support strategies
- Knowledge of the complexity of needs and barriers experienced by diverse and/or marginalised communities and how this can impact access to employment and employment outcomes
- Valid Working with Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check
- Experience in working with people from all ages and CALD backgrounds
- Sound interpersonal skills, communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills

Himilo is a community-led inclusion and support program underpinned by social cohesion themes of belonging, social justice, participation, acceptance and worth. Its vision is of a thriving Somali Australian community in West Heidelberg that contributes to, and benefits from, social cohesion and multiculturalism in Australia. Its mission is to strengthen the resilience and integration of the Somali Australian community. Conceived through a co-design process with the Australian Somali community of West Heidelberg, ‘Himilo' means positive aspirations in the Somali language, representing the project's positive aspirations to connect communities. Himilo's programs and activities are designed to improve employment, leadership, education, health, and social inclusion and cohesion outcomes for the Australian Somali community of West Heidelberg. Himilo works in partnership with its auspice, Banyule Community Health and the Victorian State Government, it's Local Reference Group and most importantly, the Australian Somali Community of West Heidelberg to deliver community support programs and develop its capacity and sustainability as an effective, community led program.
