**About the opportunity**

We have an exciting perm full-time opportunity for an experienced and dedicated professional to join our HR department as a Work Health and Safety Advisor. The team is seeking an individual who is passionate about ensuring a safe workplace, and instilling a culture of safety and wellbeing within the whole organisation.

This hybrid role will report directly to the Chief People Officer.

Key components of the role include:

- Identifying WH&S issues across the business and implementing mitigating strategies
- Working with key stakeholders in the organisation to ensure compliance with organisational policy and legislative requirements
- Providing input and review of OH&S policies and procedures
- Undertaking risk assessments within office and client accommodation sites, and monitor controls for effectiveness
- Monitoring ongoing safe work practices and a strong safety culture by inspecting worksites

**About you**

To be successful in this position it is essential you have:

- Relevant WHS/Risk Management qualifications and experience.
- Experience implementing WHS management systems
- Experience undertaking WHS audits and investigations
- A sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 legislation, NDIS Practice Standards and Equal Opportunity Principles.
- An understanding of manual handling risks and emergency management response
- Current/unrestricted driver's license and willingness to travel periodically around Victoria
- Current First Aid and CPR qualification
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent computer literacy and high level of administrative skills
- Desirable:_
- Previous experience working within a similar role in the disability, community services or aged care sectors.
