We’re driven by innovation and are proud that the technologies in our products and brands, like COLORBOND® steel, inspire and protect everything from hospitals and bridges to stadiums and homes.

**The Opportunity**

- develop novel techniques for the characterisation and assessment of BlueScope products and processes
- coach and mentor team members and strive for continuous improvement outcomes
- approve technical reports and provide technical knowledge and guidance in the support of BlueScope’s external, collaborative technical initiatives.

**More About You**

Along with your passion and commitment to safety and your technical expertise, you will bring a highly consultative nature to the role. You will also bring:

- degree qualifications in Materials Engineering/Science or similar
- relevant industry experience
- theoretical knowledge of, and demonstrated practical expertise in, advanced materials preparation and evaluation technologies (e.g. Ion-beam milling, SEM, EPMA)

Though not required for this role, knowledge and experience in thermodynamics or a comprehensive understanding of techniques such as XRD, EBSD, TEM, XRF & FTIR _will be highly regarded_.
