As our business is fast growing, we are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Sydney.
**Job tasks and responsibilities**
You will be working in the IT Department and reporting to Senior Management. Your role will include (but not limited to) the following tasks:
- Assist in developing, implementing and administering company cyber security strategies and initiatives.
- Conduct regular cyber security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate controls and countermeasures.
- Monitor and analyse security events, alerts, and logs to detect and respond to potential threats and breaches.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Manage security-related vendor relationships and contracts.
- Provide regular information and training for staff members to enhance their awareness of security risks, as well as their ability to identify and appropriately handle security threats.
- Negotiate, influence, and collaborate with other teams, clients, and vendors to promote a culture of security awareness and risk management, create positive engagement and ensure appropriate expectations and deadlines are met.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend proactive measures to enhance security posture.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
**Qualifications & experience**
To be considered for this role, you are required to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2 years of proven work experience as a Cyber Security Analyst, with a focus on security operations, incident response, and risk assessment
- sound knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- demonstrated flexibility, accountability and ability to manage workload with tight deadlines;
- excellent attention to detail, strong administrative and procedural skills;
