The Assistant Director, Costing and Systems reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work that delivers quality outcomes.
The Assistant Director, Costing and Systems will be responsible for resolving issues and risks as they arise. Key accountabilities include managing inventory costing and FMIS controls related to the production environment and the associated cost implications.
The duties of this position include:
1. Coordinating upgrades or enhancements of the Mint’s FMIS and identifying new opportunities that continuously improve business practices and system capabilities.
2. Calculating and reviewing the Transfer Price Model and proposed costing for products.
3. Authorising system access to ensure security and integrity of the financial system, assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades, training, and change management.
4. Providing expert advice to the CFO and internal stakeholders in strategic financial management and analysis, and accounting policies and procedures.
5. Developing and coordinating work programs.
6. Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
7. Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships with Senior Managers, other branches and external stakeholders.
**Security clearance**
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
**Qualification**
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar.
- Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies.
