About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our major projects team. This is a permanent position based at our Perth CBD office.

This role will lead the Engineering component of major projects in our development portfolio, with project value in excess of $1B. The role ensures that the studies are delivered consistently, efficiently and with best practice fit for purpose standards that meets Iluka’s business and project objectives, along with all technical and regulatory requirements.

Role responsibilities will include the following:
- Ensure internal business stakeholders are aligned to project technical objectives- Develop engineering and technical aspects of the major projects execution strategy in collaboration with project stakeholders, ensuring our engineering strategies align to this- Develop and manage owner’s team engineering management plans that drive efficiency and effectiveness of engineering delivery- Development of strategic relationships with key technical and engineering service providers, enabling win-win engagements- Ensure engineering processes and systems are appropriately deployed enabling consistent and efficient delivery of our major projects- Develop high quality reporting that enable performance deviations to be identified and addressed- Monitor and control engineering budgets and schedules, ensuring that the service providers and internal functions deliver within financial and timeline constraints- Manage and administer the design change management process and have authorised all scope changes- Provide technical leadership and expertise, reviewing and approving engineering documentation to ensure it meets the project's technical and regulatory standards- Manage technical and design related risks

About you

To be successful for this role, you will:
- Have demonstrated experience in design or project management roles, leading engineering teams in owner and EPCM organisations- Be able to adjudicate technical issues across a range of technical disciplines. You will have a degree in engineering or related discipline (e.g. mining/civil, mechanical, electrical, process)- Be a problem solver, and be prepared to challenge entrenched norms- Be a strong collaborator with an ability to engage and direct external consultants, and align internal technical functions to project objectives- Be autonomous, with strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to inspire our study teams and our senior business stakeholders, alike- Have deep knowledge and experience with engineering processes and systems across owner and EPCM organisations
