**The role in context**:
With an ever-increasing expectation from stakeholders, and subsequent announcements from companies setting carbon neutrality targets, the Emission Reduction Fund (ERF) Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme has seen a correlated increase. KPMG believes that we supply a crucial service in the provision of assurance to both project proponents and to the Clean Energy Regulator over the validity of these units.

We also provide assurance services for a range of non-financial disclosures, reports and regulatory filings to enhance the credibility of reported information. **Your Opportunity**

To support our vibrant and growing Climate Change and Sustainability services team we have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our team in Sydney.

As an ERF ACCU specialist, you will be expected to play a pivotal role in the development of relationships with the Regulator and ERF proponents, and in the training of our diverse and growing Climate Change & Sustainability practice, whilst delivering assurance in accordance with the regulatory frameworks.

- You are a relationship builder, with keen communication skills and the knack for building and managing relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- You are focused on project management and quality delivery, with an ability for big-picture thinking and the accountability to see projects through from beginning to end; such as establishing project details, performance measurement baselines, key milestones, work breakdown structures, and resource planning.

- Knowledge and experience of the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) Act, ERF ACCU Scheme and the applicable methodologies under both the Land and Industry sectors. Experience in the below methodologies would be an advantage:

- Measurement of soil carbon sequestration
- Estimating sequestration of carbon in soil using default values method (model-based soil carbon)
- Beef cattle herd management
- Reforestation by environmental or mallee plantings
- Human-induced regeneration of a permanent even-aged native forest
- Savanna fire management
- Native forest from managed regrowth
- Avoided clearing of native regrowth.
- Ability to conduct technical and high-quality analysis utilising both FullCAM and SavBAT.
- Strong assurance knowledge and experience including planning, risk assessments, designing the assurance approach and procedures, testing and analysis, review, and reporting.
- Knowledge of the following would be beneficial: Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme.

**Qualifications**:

- Applicants with tertiary qualification in science, engineering, accounting or commerce is advantageous.
