**The opportunity**

We have two exciting opportunities for Business Intelligence Specialist roles, temporary full time role upto 30th June 2024 within Advanced Analytics & Insights divison. This role deliver’s enterprise BI capability across the organisation, including defining and managing the adoption of the Transport clusters’ analysis and reporting standards, and to perform the development, testing and maintenance of BI Reports, visualisations, user interfaces, data models, queries and related artefacts for various cluster wide projects and initiatives.

Your role will include
- Developing rich, interactive, visually striking graphics and data visualizations of "large" amounts of data that facilitate the presentation of data
- Build compelling, interactive dashboards in Tableau and Power BI for internal and external clients
- Develop and test business reports, visualisations, user interfaces, data models, queries and related artefacts for agreed business requirements.
- Design and customise dimensional models, data schemas, Bl metadata, and report models to accommodate the business' specific processes, data, and requirements.
- Establishing best practice, integrity and governance across the Analytics and Reporting Platform by implementing standards and guidelines.
- Support the continual investment in business focused analytics, with emphasis on statistical, predictive, prescriptive and next generation Analytics.
- Establish and manage effective, customer focused working relationships with business users to identify requirements, develop user friendly solutions, and work with other cross functional team members to trouble shoot and solve problems.
- Ensure alignment with the data governance policy of the TfNSW cluster.
- Translate complex technical issues into business terms and collaborates with business partners to refine and facilitate prioritization of requirements to address the immediate business needs based on complexity of the technical solution environment.

**About you**

To be successful in the role
- Have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience
- Experience in data visualization techniques, analytics dashboard design, Infographic displays and information delivery best practices
- Experience in development using visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
- Experience in development using AWS QuickSight is desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of visualisation design principles, standards and best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of data warehouse, data analytics and reporting processes and procedures.
- Experience in data preparation, blending, integration and resolution of data quality issues for subsequent analysis in Tableau and Power BI
- Knowledge of Python is desirable
- Understanding of, and experience in working with different spatial projection standards, geospatial file formats and spatial web services
- Experience in analysis of legacy systems and derive value from them, Cloud experience & SQL scripting will see you shine in the role.
