**About the role**
In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure - all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
We are searching for an admirable leader to join us as a **Superintendent Asset Management Rail**, to lead our Rail Asset Management team. The team is a high-performance team and one that is critical to the success of Rio Tinto's major rail assets. Based in Perth, this role will spearhead the execution of the overall asset management strategy, by ensuring optimised work and shutdown schedules, effective budget planning and continuous process improvement across all areas of rail maintenance.
Your daily remit will include but not be limited to:
- Leading a highly skilled team of advisers to manage the asset master data
- Coaching and developing the team to build individuals capabilities and competence
- Leading the development and implementation of maintenance plans, budgets and forecasts
- Undertaking budgeting optimization processes to reduce operating costs and realise efficiencies
- Embedding a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and facilitating the changes required to achieve sustainable process improvements
- Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholder groups to ensure the team deliverables are fit-for-purpose
**About you**
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of work, shut and asset management principles
- Proficiency with Master Data, capture, extraction and utilisation
- Expertise in SAP to a seasoned practitioner level
- Experience fostering and developing collaborative working relationships
**It will also be beneficial if you have**:
- Working knowledge of rail operations
- Front line management or other relevant leadership development qualifications
- Post-studies in maintenance management
