**About the Role**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Management Specialist to join our dedicated team within this government department. This role demands a proactive and strategic professional capable of managing high-profile events from conception to completion. You will be instrumental in ensuring our events not only meet but exceed expectations while fostering significant stakeholder engagement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Event Lifecycle Management**: Take charge of all phases of high-profile events, from the initial concept and design through planning, delivery, and post-event evaluation.
- **Strategic Advice**: Provide senior management, stakeholders, and clients with high-level advice and recommendations on best practices for effective event management and engagement.
- **Event Planning and Objective Setting**: Define the purpose, objectives, key messages, KPIs, and desired outcomes for events, and develop event concepts that align with these parameters.
- **Project Management**: Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and management of correspondence, guidelines, and project plans to ensure smooth event execution.
- **Marketing and Communications**: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans to enhance event awareness and boost participation.
- **Financial Management**: Manage budget preparation, procurement, and financial oversight to deliver events within budget and in accordance with financial guidelines.
- **Partnerships and Sponsorships**: Secure and manage partnerships and sponsorships to support event objectives.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work closely with key stakeholders, other government departments, and external entities to optimise event outcomes.
- **Relationship Building**: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor and fostering long-term collaboration and growth.
- **Representation**: Represent the department in inter-departmental and external meetings, enhancing departmental visibility and influence.
- Proven experience in event management, preferably within a government or large organizational setting.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- A collaborative team player with a track record of successful stakeholder management.
