AO6 & AO7 Project Manager (Major Projects/Capital Works) $74.54 - $89.02 per hour + Super (36.25 hours PAYG) ASAP start – Initial 6-month contract (w/ 6 month extension) Brisbane CBD office (hybrid work) Six Degrees is partnering with a large QLD Government department in the recruitment of an AO6 & AO7 Project Manager on a contract basis. This Department includes specialist project managers responsible for facilitating the delivery of high risk and/or high value capital works projects on behalf of the Queensland Government. They have delivered and are delivering a diverse range of projects including major sporting, entertainment, arts, cultural, health, correctional and manufacturing facilities.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will successfully utilise professional leadership and management capabilities to deliver projects on schedule and budget, in accordance with statutory responsibilities, government priorities, funding agreements with project partners, departmental policies and procedures. The role requires an ability to drive and manage complex capital works projects from feasibility through to final project delivery.
AO6 Key Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, collaboratively resolving issues, ensuring effective project delivery and a high degree of stakeholder satisfaction. Providing comprehensive, accurate and timely briefings to the Senior and Executive Leadership Teams of the department, as well as the Minister, on capital works project and program issues, risks, strategies, policies and consultation issues impacting the portfolio. Contributing to the development of a major project pipeline, comprised of complex government infrastructure projects, with a focus on growth and job creation. Managing projects to ensure delivery that aligns with the client’s scope, time, cost, cash-flow and quality requirements. Reporting on the progress and delivery of projects against time, quality and cost indicators, through use of monitoring and review systems. AO7 Key Resposnbilties:

Exercising strong commercial acumen and confidence to engage with consultants and contractors for projects of significant capital value. Contributing to the development of a major project pipeline, comprised of complex government infrastructure projects, with a focus on growth and job creation. Managing projects to ensure delivery that aligns with the client’s scope, time, cost, cash-flow and quality requirements. Reporting on the progress and delivery of projects against time, quality and cost indicators, through use of monitoring and review systems. Demonstrated ability to manage capital projects, working within program and project teams and/or multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that risks are effectively managed and key program and project milestones are achieved. Strong commercial acumen and confidence to engage with consultants and contractors for projects of significant capital value. Demonstrated capacity to provide high level strategic and professional advice to a range of key stakeholders, regarding projects and project objectives.
