**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Incident Coordination, the Incident Response Officer is a member of a team responsible for coordinating and supporting EPA’s timely and appropriate response to incidents and emergencies related to pollution and waste.

**In this role you will**:

- Under the direction of the Manager, Incident Coordination, plan and deliver expert coordination and operational support, before, during and after major incidents and emergencies.
- Contribute to the uplift in emergency and incident response capability across the team including coordinating and supporting training activities and facilitating training (if required).
- Undertake administrative processes necessary for the effective achievement of regulatory outcomes and ensure that all Government and EPA policies and procedures, such as financial management, occupational health and safety, and conduct are complied with.
- Prepare and maintain afterhours incident response rosters and working closely with EPA regional offices to ensure there is business hours incident response coverage.
- Contribute to the development of safe systems of work for EPA staff involved in incident and emergency response; EPA's emergency management plans and doctrine.

**_ Skills and Experience:_**
- A relevant tertiary degree or qualifications in emergency management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience in incident and emergency management including resource management and rostering.
- Knowledge of Victoria’s emergency management arrangements.
- Knowledge of EPA’s roles and responsibilities in the State Emergency Management Plan.
- A broad understanding of environmental regulation as it relates to pollution and waste is desirable.
